Analysing information recorded in the markbook
As you build up your records, evidence and recording in the Classroom Monitor markbook, all the changes that you make are dated and stored. This information builds up to create a complete profile for each pupil, which can then be accessed in a number of simple ways to analyse both the performance of the pupil (and share this with parents) and also to get a 'whole school' picture of your nursery or for comparisons across multiple settings or nurseries. Here are just a few of the options you can use to analyse performance:
- Pupil summary documents – Classroom Monitor can create simple Word documents highlighting next steps for each pupil in seconds.. These can be shared with the pupil or parents electronically at any time so that parents can share in their child’s development and support them from home.
- Graphs – A simple wizard allows you to instantly create progress graphs, identify target groups of ability ranges and identify which children are working below and above age related expectancy. You can create cohorts for analysis and even use Classroom Monitor to compare different nurseries in your group or chain.
- Tracking sheets – Create MS Excel worksheets directly from the markbook. They are pre-formatted into simple tracking sheets or target setting pages which are easy to view/ edit and print. They show numerical progress for individuals or cohorts and are easy to print or save for future reference.
