Classroom Monitor Primary | Case Studies

Our partner schools love to share their experiences of Classroom Monitor - click on the links below to read a detailed case study from each school.

SOUTH EAST

Kent: Downsview Community Primary, Duncan Edwards -'Staff responded brilliantly, they really took the system on board. They could see how effective Classroom Monitor was going to be from the demonstration we received, and they've really run with it.'

SOUTH WEST

Gloucester: Northway Infant School, Lynn Williams -'Staff are tracking the progress of each pupil, in all subjects, more closely and sharing ‘next steps’ with pupils far more routinely. As a consequence, pupils are remarkably well informed about their achievements and what they are aiming for.'

Dorset: Blandford St Mary’s, Paul Lavis -'Classroom Monitor has pulled together all our assessment systems. We had computerised systems before but all on the school’s local network. CM has given us much more flexibility by having it online.'

MIDLANDS

Derbyshire: Walton-on-Trent Primary and Nursery, Carolyn White-'We use the system to record all our assessments, to plan our lessons and to attach all evidence of the children's progress'

Birmingham: Topcliffe School, Ian Lowe - 'The one thing that has been most beneficial to the school is for staff to quickly understand when a child is falling behind... In short it has given staff the focus to personalise learning for all children.'

NORTH

Teesside: Yarm Primary, Vicki Hughes- 'It ensures all staff have accountability for the progress and learning of children in their class, as the assessment data is used and analysed by all.’

Wakefield: Flanshaw School, Jean Moyser - 'Classroom Monitor shows us the big picture at the click of a button instead of trawling through paper files – and it reduces the risk of lost data and date stamps /signs all entries providing an accurate and ongoing record.'

WALES

Bridgend: Penybont Primary, Ben Blackall - 'Classroom Monitor has been particularly valuable in terms of focussing on skills rather than knowledge acquisition, which is the basis of the curriculum in Wales.'

Barry Island Primary, Ty Golding - 'It’s a great tool for tracking children year-on-year, enabling  the SLT and co-ordinators to monitor progress within and across classes, and to compare various cohort groups.'
